The Random Farms Kids Theater, Inc. and Broadway Workshop will hold auditions for their annual “Industry Showcase Night” on December 1st and 3rd at The Random Arts Performing Center (77 Executive Blvd., Elmsford, NY 10523) and December 4 at Ripley Grier (520 8th Avenue, 16th floor). Auditions are open to young people ages 5 – 18.
Industry Showcase night is an opportunity for kids and teens to perform in front of NYC’s top agents, managers and casting directors. Those chosen for the showcase will have one rehearsal in Elmsford on December 9. You must be available for the performance in NYC on December 20.
Prepare one minute of material – a song (with sheet music), monologue or combination of both. Or just tell a joke! You could even make up a commercial or tell a story. Industry professionals are looking for “raw” talent. What you perform is less important than showing your personality.
There is no cost to audition or participate in this event. "Industry Showcase Night" is intended for performers without professional representation. If you already have an agent or manager, or were part of last year's "Industry Showcase Night," please do not audition.

RFKT’s newest program for the performer who wants to use his/her talents to make a difference! Auditions are Monday, September 12 and Tuesday, September 13 @ 4pm-6pm.
Four casts of 10-15 performers each will meet once a week (either Mondays or Tuesdays) in April and May of 2012 to rehearse for a musical review. The small groups will allow for lots of individualized instruction and plenty of solos, choreography and ensemble work for everyone. Sessions 1-6 are rehearsals at our Elmsford studio. Session 7 is a special performance at the studio for parents. Then the show will hit the road, traveling into the community to provide music, theater and joy to those in need. Sessions 8, 9 and 10 are performances to be scheduled in late May and June. Venues include nursing homes, children’s hospitals and local events.
Open to grades 2-8 by audition only. Tuition-based program ($300) to cover expenses. Performances are free to qualifying charible organizations. Community service hours available.

2012-2013 Mainstage/Edge Production
Auditions
May 29 & 31
Seeking performers in elementary school (starting in grade 2) thru college.
Callbacks are June 4 & 7.
Auditions will be held at our Elmsford studio on May 29 and 31 for a combined Mainstage/Edge production (similar to how we did "Hairspray") and open to all ages, elementary school thru college. Callbacks will be June 4 and 7.
Rehearsals will begin in the fall (mid October-mid December), only about twice a week. They will pick up again in January, three times a week, with the performances the last week of January or first week of February (depending on cast). Even though auditions are being held early, since the program does not actually start until next year, it does not conflict with this summer's Mainstage production of "Seussical," our spring Workshop and Jellybeans production of "Anne of Green Gables," any of our Summer Workshop Intensives, or next fall's Workshops/Jellybeans shows.
Due to licensing restrictions, the show title cannot be published on our website until May 1. Please check back then or email anya@randomfarms.com for the show title.
There is no fee to audition. RFKT is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. This is a tuition-based program. The fee, only if cast, is $465. Parent is financially responsible for fee if child is cast in a role parent says he/she will accept on the audition form. A $50 refundable security deposit is also required, but is returned if the cast member sells an ad for the playbill and returns all loaned materials in good condition. A limited number of need-based scholarships are available. The SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION must be received by your audition.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT RFKT MAINSTAGE AUDITIONS
Q: My child doesn't have a headshot - do we need to get one for the auditions?
A: No. Any recent snapshot or school picture is fine.
Q: My child doesn't have a resume - what should I do?
A: Don't worry about it - there is a form you can fill out at the auditions.
Q: What should the resume have on it?
A: The most important part of the resume is your child's name and phone number! Make sure to also include address and height. Then add any relevant experience or training.
Q: Do you need to have prior experience to audition?
A: No.
Q: If my child is not called back for a Mainstage production, does that mean that he/she will not be cast in the show?
A: No.
Q: If my child is not cast, is it appropriate for me to call the theater to find out why?
A: No. Questions of this nature should be sent via email only to anya@randomfarms.com
Q: Does my child need to dress up for the audition?
A: No. Children should dress however they feel most comfortable. They should either wear or bring footwear that they can dance in (i.e. sneakers, jazz shoes, ballet slippers).
Q: Can I watch my child audition?
A: No. Parents are asked to please wait outside in the waiting area while their children audition. We have found that parents inside the audition room are distracting to both the children and to the casting directors.

A: A short musical theater/jazz combination.

A: No.

A: Just the sides - or lines from the script - that you can pick up in the lobby. Additional music may also be given out.
Q: If my child is called back for the Mainstage production, does he/she need to memorize the lines from the sides that he/she is given?
A: No.
