A membership company for high school and college aged performers.

The Edge is a new company for the serious actor looking to perform challenging material in a professional setting.  Upon acceptance into the company, members are guaranteed a role in all productions with The Edge.  Members will also help to choose future shows, develop new programs and work on productions in a technical capacity.  Members of the company will play an integral role in marketing and publicity, fundraising and production.  Company members will be chosen to serve as Assistant Directors, Stage Managers and Associate Choreographers.

Members will work on shows geared towards a mature audience, alongside staff that will include RFKT directors and special Broadway guest artists.

The Edge will produce its first show “in concert,” onstage at The Tarrytown Music Hall this May.  Shows “in concert” will have minimal scenery and costumes, but are fully staged and choreographed with live music (think of Les Miserables In Concert, which aired on PBS). The intention is to showcase the company members and bring material to the public that might not otherwise be performed due to technical obstacles or the age of the performers.

Auditions
Auditions for The Edge will be December 18 and 21 at the new Random Farms Performing Arts Center.

Please prepare 32 bars of a musical theater song that shows vocal range.  An accompanist will be provided.  Bring a recent picture, resume and clothes you can dance in.  Open to performers in high school and college only.

Those who make it into the company will be contacted by January 1.  Auditions for the first show will take place later that month.  Rehearsals will run March/April, with the show in early May.  Commitment will be 2-3 times a week (depending on role) for eight weeks.  Actors in The Edge will also have access to their own private studio at the Performing Arts Center for additional rehearsal or planning purposes 1-2 nights a week.

Those cast in the company pay a membership fee of $350. This guarantees you a role in any future productions produced through the Edge.  It also pays for participation in the May production.  If, for any reason, you are unable to participate in the May production, your membership fee may be credited towards any future production at The Edge.
